Saudi Media Measurement Company Launch



The General Commission for Audiovisual Media organized a press conference attended by the Minister of Culture and Information, Chairman of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media Management Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, to launch Saudi Media Measurement Company and commission the global operator GFK and the Auditor CESP, to measure TV audience viewership in Kingdom.

The Head of General Commission for Audiovisual Media Chairman of the board of directors in Saudi Media Measurement Company (SMMC), Dr. Riyadh Najm during his speech said: The reasons behind initiating the project by the Commission is for developing the Saudi media market, through bridging the gap between what is spent on advertising market and what are captured internally, as the project is adding to the transparency of TV audience measurement, therefore, advertisers can spend their advertising budget in the right place.

In addition, Dr. Riyadh Najm said: The advantages of the project are creating one currency for the market, and delivering an accurate information as fast as possible.

Head of the Board of Directors for the global operator GFK Company, Matthias Hatman, said in his speech: Contracting with (SMMC) is an important event that will make Saudi Media Measurement Company a lead in measuring television stations in Arab world.

After that, the contracts signed by the operating company (Gfk). The Minister of Culture and Information, Chairman of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media management handed the license to the CEO of Saudi Media Measurement Company (SMMC) Mr. Mohammed Fal.
